The Pineapple Project

Tuesday, February 17th 2020

Mal and Becca are The Pineapple Project

Had the privilege of bringing the kids to a library show of a colleague/friend, Mal, who performs “The Pineapple Project” with a co-creator & performer. It’s about two children playing together and navigating their gender roles.

With charm and innocence they decide that Batman can fly better with fairy wings, Barbie can be “super” with a cape, they can be a Pirate Queen or a “Fancy Prince” if they want to, and tutus are fit for any occasion.

#HellYeah!

Thank you Mal, Becca, and Cambridge Public Libraries!

Crazy Bunny Lady Diaries: Life with Boomer Day #5

Monday, February 17th 2020

Ol’ “Boomberry” may work out after all.

Here he is in DIY diaper version 3.0:

Diaper Bunny

.

It seems to be working, and doesn’t seem to be slowing him down.  At least not when it comes to perpetually sassing the cat:

.

.

Meanwhile, it looks like:

1)  ClaraJane has a new Valentine:

“be my valentine! Boom-berry ❤ i love you a lot… even though you scrack me a lot… to: boomer from: ClaraJane”

.

2)  Nutter (one of the girls)  WISHES she had a new Valentine:

“Yoo hoo! Young man…”

.

I know, they look like twins, though as the kids said, “Nutter could be Boomer’s Great- Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandmother or something!’

(They are both the same breed; Netherland Dwarf.)

.

3)   And alas, Peter Parker and Flash still want nothing to do with Mr. Romance:

“No thanks!”

.

Ah, but what is the life of a rabbit if not to live out most of one’s days… with love unrequited?

Crazy Bunny Lady Diaries: DIY Bunny Diaper

Sunday, February 16th 2020

Voila.

.

.

Otherwise, he poos EVERYWHERE.

Version one above failed (he got it off), so here is version 2.0.

.

Verdict:  It kinda worked, because when I went to take it off later it was filled with poo, and had absorbed some pee.  But -spoiler alert!- his poo was a bad consistency (gooey, instead of dry), so I’m concerned the compression on his torso is impeding healthy excretion.  We’ve got plenty more single socks to try though, so I’m not giving up.

Meanwhile, the cats think this is fine.  Totally normal. Nothing strange going on around here we’ll be fine thanks (all squeeze into closet together).

We’re fine.

Saturday @Home ‘Cuz No Gigs

Saturday, February 15th 2020

Boy wants a fancy skewer for his V8 …too.

#Happy@Home

.

Also, I don’t remember why I was down on the floor, but I must have looked comfortable.

Crazy Bunny Lady Diaries: The Desperation of Romeo

Saturday, February 15th 2020

With all the Valentine romance in the air -or the smell of two doe bunnies in estrus idk- “Boomer” has upped his game.

.

img_8980

“YOO HOO! Ladies ladies ladies…”

.

And yes I found a place that will neuter him for less than $900. The first available date to just give him a preliminary EXAM is not ‘til end of the month.

Meanwhile I need his balls off YESTERDAY.

We are so screwed.

So to speak.

.

PS:  There is not really any such thing as female bunnies in estrus.  Get this:  They ovulate upon coitus… so a pregnancy is -according to the vet- “guaranteed.”  They are “Obligate Ovulators.”   F#ck me.

PPS:  WHO WANTS SOME BABY BUNNIES!?!

.

Crazy Bunny Lady Diaries: Boomer’s Second Day – Health and Housing

Thursday, February 13th 2020

.

1)  Boomer Goes to the Doctor.

img_8975

Yup, he’s a healthy (AF) young MALE.

.

2)  Habitat Sorted, for now.

img_8976

There’s even a spot for Manmeat.

.

3)  Boomer seems happy.

img_8972

.

4)  We still have a problem (two actually).

img_8961

Because today you wanted to see what a rabbit testes looks like, lol.

.

It only took one $97 healthy checkup to learn that the local vet requires $900 to neuter a rabbit.

Needless to say we are exploring other options.

Crazy Bunny Lady Diary: A Love Story in Three Frames.

Thursday, February 13th 2020

.

1)  Bun meets Cat.

2)  Bun woos Cat.

3)  Bun loses Cat.

.

img_8953

.

The End.

.

Note:  No animals were harmed in the making of this love story.  Neither was any love made, unfortunately.

Crazy Bunny Lady Diary Reboot: Introducing “Boomer!”

Thursday, February 13th 2020

.

Now HERE’S something NOBODY NEEDS:   A New Bunny.

img_8923

Meet “Boomer”

.

Yes it’s true, our brood of animals just grew from FIVE to SIX.  The freecycle Facebook group in my town had this bunny who needs a home, and as a self-anointed bunny expert, I fell for it.

img_8804

The younger, smaller, more female version Boomer as advertised…

.

In my defense, we are looking to start replacing the two bunnies I use for work, as they are getting old.  And one of them is getting… cranky.  And yes the kids and even Dear Hubsand got on board with it first, but now I have this Fuzzy Terror flinging around the domicile and I’m asking, “What have I done?”

After making all these preparations to carefully introduce Boomer to the girls -Fluff and Nutter-  naturally Boomer turns out to be a BOY.  So alas they won’t be meeting anytime soon.  The girls are on LOCKDOWN.

img_8942

Sorry ladies.

.

Needless to say we have an appointment to see about a little alteration, ahem, down below.  Fuzzy bunny balls may be adorable, but we’ve been down this route before and they gotta GO.

Meanwhile, as I try to figure out what kind of housing arrangement to create for this handsome fella (and WHERE in our tight space, omg)… I marvel at him arranging himself around my housing.

Here he is trying my coffee… and furniture… and…

img_8944

.

*Trying* the cat.

img_8931

Peter Parker is not amused.

.

Doing as he pleases.  Oh my.  Such a classic BUCK.  We certainly don’t have any self-esteem issues with this one.

img_8945

M i right… LADIES ???

.

Oh FFS he’s already taken out a personal ad:

img_8946

.

Shit we are in trouble.
