Homeschool Times – Pajama Day Edition

Friday, March 27th 2020

Today in Coronavirus Quarantine Homeschooling it is Friday, the end of our second week at home, and -hooray- Pajama Day.

.

First Up, Mom checks in with work.

2020-03-27 Joke of the Day feat. Hubsand [1:06]:

.

Next Up:  After doing math all morning, ClaraJane video conferences with her actual school teachers.

2020-03-27 ClaraJane Shares Poetry with Her Teachers Online [0:41]:

.

In addition to his regular curriculum today, Gavin dabbles in electrical engineering.

2020-03-27 Gavin’s First Adventure with Elecrical Engineering [1:26]:

.

Then he promptly gets online in time for a quiz game with his Spanish Class:

.

And –after an epic battle all afternoon– Daddy & CJ celebrate completing her perspective narrative writing assignment (which turned out awesome btw)!

.

Alas, we are now done with Week Two and Day 10 of Quarantine Homeschooling.

I can hardly believe how far we’ve come.  I’m learning so much tech my head legit hurts.

I’m ready for a drink.

Drinks.

I’m ready for a drinks.

And *still* there are teachers lobbing in more “Distance Learning Material.”

And *still* there are “friends” who want to “share ideas of what to do with your kids while you’re hanging out at home.”

Hanging out.

“Hanging out.”

Where’s my drinks?

At Rise: Do You MIND

Friday, March 27th 2020

del do you mind

AT RISE:  It is late morning on homeschool quarantine day #10.  CJ is on the couch doing “Symphony Math” on her Chromebook.  Mom and Dad are babbling incoherently about something or another, just like real life annoying grownups.

CJ:  [Muttering quietly through clenched teeth.]  How do you expect me to do this problem that requires listening with only one earbud working and you making all this noise!?

Mom:  [Pauses.]  Is she talking to us?

Dad:  Hmm?

Both:  [Look over at CJ]

CJ:  [More emphatically.]  How do you expect me to do this problem that requires listening with only one earbud working and you making all this noise!?

Mom:  [Thinking of multiple solutions.]  Is that something you want help troubleshooting or is that your way of telling us to be quiet?

CJ:  [Cold stare.]  It’s a rhetorical question.

Mom & Dad:  [Look at each other, impressed. Dad shrugs.  Mom exhales.]

Mom:  Wow!  All we have to do is nothing.  Fantastic.

Mom & Dad:  [Exchange a tiny kiss, and then SHADDUP.]

SCENE.

My First Zumba

Wednesday, March 25th 2020

Day #12 of the Coronavirus Quarantine, only to find out it’s being extended from April 7th through to May 4th.  SOOO… I tell my husband we are trying THIS:

.

ZUMBA!  “Bounce back from whatever’s going on!”

.

15-Minute Bounce-Back Cardio Dance Workout [15 minutes]:

.

To the dismay of our kids, Hubsand and I gave it a go.

Woo-hoo!!

Who KNEW just a tiny bit of exercise could make such a difference?

Oh wait, everybody.   Everybody knows that.

And I used to be an athlete too.

I just forot.

Either way, we are doing that AGAIN!
