To Wit:

ONCE IS  A FLUKE

TWICE IS A PATTERN

THREE TIMES IS A PROBLEM

AT RISE:

Mom is driving Boy to school after missing the bus a second time.   She is having Boy write down things to help create a Morning Routine for himself.

BOY:  [Reads from list.]  Bathroom, dress, teeth, backpack, jacket.  [Picks up book.]

MOM: OK Great.  Um, you want shoes with that?

BOY:  Oh yeah.  [Puts down book.  Writes “shoes.”  Picks up book.]

MOM:  How about your watch? Breakfast?  Book?  Anything else?”

BOY:  [Sighs audibly.  Puts down books.  Writes notes.  Picks up book again.]

MOM:  OK, how about a target time for leaving?

BOY:  [Frustrated sigh.  Repeats above. ]

MOM:  Anything else?

BOY:   [Puts down book exasperated.FINE!  [Writes frenetically.]  Create. World. Peace.  Impeach. Trump.  Solve.  EVERYTHING!  Are you happy now!?!

MOM:  [Pauses.]  Yes.  [Represses laugh.]  Yes I am.

SCENE.
